Having light skin complexion has been seen as a trend to a number of people in Africa however not everyone is ashamed of his or her African black beauty. Casey Sindi is a Zimbabwean runway model who ventured in the modeling industry in October 2015 and has catwalk wearing designs for Africa’s award-winning designers like  David Tlale,Danielle Allen,Chenna Nenni,Tapfumanei Munenge ,Zargue’sia and Philano Afrotext etc. 19-year-old model Casey Sindi is prominently known for her natural black beauty which she says it has given her an advantage when it comes to the modelling industry.

Unlike other young models who are of the view that to be beautiful one needs to have light complexion hence there is need to use different cosmetics to change their complexion from dark skin to light skin. Casey is happy with her black beauty and she doesn’t believe that beauty is determined by light complexion. “My black beauty has been a good advantage on the runway sometimes unlike other models I get to wear two or more designs during a runway,” said Casey.

When questioned why some African models are in favor of lightening their skin through different cosmetics she replied by saying ‘its lack of confidence’. “They aren’t confident about the way they look and some models think ‘bleaching’ will make designers choose them and it’s not wise,” clarified Casey. Ms. Sindi said since she began her journey in the modeling industry she has learnt to be punctual and to make the runway ramp her world. Hence this year she is aiming to catwalk in international fashion shows wearing Tapfumanei Munenge,Chenna Nenni,Taibo Bacar and Thula Sindi’s pieces.
