South African Menswear Week which is a platform set aside for development and promotion of menswear within the African continent. The event takes place in Capetown, South Africa twice a year with men’s wear being showcased across the South Africa Menswear week’s ramp.

This year the event is taking place from the of 8th February to the-10th of February. Zimbabwe’s award-winning model aka Mr Zimbabwe, Shadel Noble is expected to catwalk during the event. This will be the second time for Mr. Noble to appear at the SA Menswear Week ramp as a model. Last year he modeled for Nguni Shades and Zimbabwe’s award-winning designer Kidd Hunter.

Mr Noble described the two designers’ collections as unique. “Last year I catwalked wearing two designers’ pieces Ngugi Shades from Durban and Kidd Hunta who is based in Zimbabwe. They had really nice clothing. Their collections were winter collections which I really looked nice in,” said Shadel. Mr. Noble further described the South Africa Menswear fashion week as a well-organized event in every activity which takes place there and encouraged other players in the industry to take notes on how to host an international event.

Representing Zimbabwe during the event will be Shadel Noble and two other award-winning Zimbabwean designers Kidd Hunta and Arakani. Whom Mr. Noble said he would like to learn something from them. “Kidd Hunter and Arakani are big fashion houses and I am hoping that I can learn one or two things from them. They have been in the game for some time and they are doing pretty well for themselves,” said Shadel Noble. Shadel Noble was inaugurated as Mr. Zimbabwe on the 16th of December last year after he won People’s choice award during Zimbabwe Models Awards. The 24-year-old model has catwalked in various fashion shows such as ‘Intwasa Fashion Awards, Mpumalanga Fashion and Design Week and Swaziland SADC Fashion Week.
